    Breast augmentation surgery was first performed in 1962 by a Texas plastic surgeon who used silicone breast implants to enhance the size of a woman’s breasts.

    Make no mistake about it - that patient certainly wasn't the first woman to desire larger breasts. Scores of women have wanted their bust lines increased, cup sizes enlarged and breasts lifted well before the procedure that inspired the question “are they real?” and ushered into vernacular the phrases “breast job” and “boob job.”
