You've done your research and are aware that risks with any surgery include infection, skin loss over the treated area and failure to heal (these problems occur more frequently in smokers). You've picked a surgeon and you've been scheduled for surgery. You're nervous, excited, and scared.

There isn't much you can do while you play the waiting game, right? Well, no. There are things that you can be doing, and should be doing.

Be aware that your own surgeon will issue both pre-op and post-op instructions. Those instructions supercede any others, including the ones found on this site.
